An Unparalleled Opportunity to Support Great Music

The Triad Chamber Music Society (TCMS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing world-class chamber music to North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad.  Renowned guest artists of the highest international caliber join the finest local players in performance, and give master classes to top area students and professionals alike. 

The essence of the Society’s work is the creation of this opportunity for collaborative synergy, yielding performances of dazzling quality, comparable to the finest performances heard in major cities around the world.  And TCMS master classes foster the development of the next generation of top musicians in our community.

Last season, TCMS was proud to host a rare performance and masterclasses by legendary cellist Bernard Greenhouse.  Mr. Greenhouse is a founder of the famed Beaux Arts Trio and a direct disciple of Pablo Casals.  At 92, Mr. Greenhouse travels only infrequently, though he is constantly asked to give cello masterclasses at prestigious venues throughout the world.  We were deeply honored that Mr. Greenhouse chose the TCMS for one of his rare performances. 

As a result, the donors of the 2006-07 gave area cello students a priceless opportunity to play for Mr. Greenhouse and receive masterclass instruction directly from this living legend, and opportunity many of them will remember their entire lives. Our sponsors also helped TCMS produce and record a rare performance by Mr. Greenhouse and the finest local players.  The result was an unforgettable, well-attended concert –– in total, two full days of great music making featuring Mr. Greenhouse.

Because we are a non-profit organization, the Triad Chamber Music Society relies on the generosity of its donors and sponsors.  On people, in short, who love and care about music –– people like you.  Many are surprised to learn that proceeds from ticket sales cover only a fraction of our costs, which include artists fees, transportation, and piano tuning, just to name a few.  To cover the cost of bringing world-class performances and education to the Triad, TCMS depends on the support of individual donors.
